MIAMI GARDENS: Driver Faces Attempted Murder Charges After Targeting Uber Eats Courier and Aldi Shopper
A Miami Gardens man was arrested after police say he deliberately drove his car at a food delivery driver and later struck a customer outside a grocery store.
A 44-year-old man faces two attempted murder charges following a series of vehicle attacks in Miami Gardens on Friday. Investigators report that the suspect first drove a white Toyota Corolla toward an Uber Eats courier standing outside the Miami Gardens Police Department headquarters at 18611 NW 27th Ave. The delivery driver managed to dodge the vehicle, which instead struck a metal handrail before the driver fled the scene.
Roughly an hour later, the same vehicle arrived at an Aldi located at 19100 NW 27th Ave. According to police reports, the driver made a sudden U-turn and accelerated toward a customer walking into the store. The victim was hit, landed on the windshield, and fell to the pavement, sustaining significant abrasions to his right arm and rib cage.
