NORTH MIAMI: Second Arrest Made in North Miami Home Invasion Targeting Paralyzed Man
North Miami police have arrested a second suspect in connection with a July armed home invasion where a paralyzed man was targeted as an easy target.

North Miami police have made a second arrest following an armed home invasion robbery earlier this year that targeted a paralyzed man inside an apartment. Investigators arrested 32-year-old Brandon Marquez Flint on Tuesday in connection with the July 9 incident. Police records indicate Flint, who goes by the nickname “Twin Twin,” was located by crime suppression detectives in Miami-Dade County.
According to police reports, the robbery took place around 3:30 a.m. at a residence located in the 800 block of Northeast 121st Street. The primary victim, who is paralyzed from the waist down and uses a motorized scooter, was inside the home alongside a second individual. Investigators stated that as the second person attempted to leave, an armed man later identified as 27-year-old Jamarcus Malcolm Brooks forced his way through the open front door.
Key details in the case
Police said Brooks pointed a handgun at the witness, demanded money and marijuana, and threatened to shoot before the witness managed to flee and contact authorities. According to the arrest report, Brooks then forcibly removed the paralyzed victim from his scooter, tied his hands with a USB cable, and dragged him into a bedroom. The intruder ransacked the space and stole a black bank bag containing approximately $2,000 before escaping through a rear door as police arrived.
Investigators previously arrested Brooks in July after he allegedly admitted to helping plan the setup, describing the victim as an easy target who was known to possess money and marijuana. Cellphone data and text messages recovered during the investigation connected Brooks to Flint, with records showing communications discussing the victim's movements just minutes prior to the home invasion. Police stated that Flint later told investigators he arrived with instructions, and records show both men are currently being held in correctional facilities without bond.
