NORTH MIAMI-DADE: I-95 pursuit ends in crash and arrest
A driver was arrested after Florida Highway Patrol says he fled a traffic stop, struck multiple vehicles and attempted to escape near the Golden Glades interchange.
A driver was taken into custody after a pursuit on Interstate 95 ended near the Golden Glades interchange in North Miami-Dade.
Florida Highway Patrol identified the driver as Joel Espinosa. Troopers said he was traveling on the highway shoulder in an attempt to bypass traffic when an officer attempted to stop him.
Authorities said Espinosa drove away, struck multiple vehicles during the pursuit and eventually exited his car near Golden Glades in an attempt to flee.
He was later caught and arrested. Espinosa faces charges that include fleeing and eluding and leaving the scene of a crash.
