A newly released 911 call is revealing how workers discovered a man allegedly sleeping inside a JetBlue aircraft at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
Authorities identified the man as 32-year-old Sammuel Lackey. According to the arrest report, the aircraft was undergoing maintenance when employees discovered him during the early morning hours of Aug. 2.
Investigators allege Lackey climbed over a fence to enter a secure airport operations area, accessed the aircraft through portable stairs and initially hid inside a rear lavatory. Workers later found him sleeping in one of the back rows of the plane.
He faces charges including burglary, criminal mischief and interrupting critical infrastructure. Authorities said the incident delayed a flight and caused more than $2,400 in costs to the airline.
