MIAMI-DADE COUNTY: FIU student arrested after allegedly sending explicit material to decoy posing as minor
Florida International University police arrested a 20-year-old student over the weekend on charges related to online solicitation of a minor.

Florida International University police arrested a 20-year-old student over the weekend following an investigation into online solicitation. Authorities said the suspect arranged to meet someone he believed to be a 15-year-old boy at his dorm room located on the university's Modesto A. Maidique Campus.
According to an arrest report, an independent adult investigator using Grindr created an online persona posing as a minor. Investigators stated that the suspect, Jose Pablo Inostroza-Ibanez, continued the conversation after being told the account belonged to a 15-year-old. The interaction later moved to Snapchat, where explicit material was exchanged.

FIU police responded to the scene, reviewed the electronic communications, and interviewed the suspect after reading his Miranda rights. Inostroza-Ibanez was subsequently arrested and transported to jail, being held on a $2,500 bond.
